SPOTTED: The finsh line! This is because Gossip Girl has aired it's last ever episode.
Sorry this is very late guys, I had christmas stuff to deal with but consider this a belated christmas present to all of my readers.
This
season has been kinda sketchy for me but the last episode was actually kinda
awesome, this episode could actually one of my favourites other that the season
2 finale. I was wondering what they could do to top last week’s episode with
Blair Waldorf and her bitches which btw was pure awesomeness.
We begin
the episode basically airing the last minute from the previous episode, the cliff-hanger
(pun intended) aka Bart Bass hanging off a roof and Chuck and Blair watching
him cling to his life. Blair is telling Chuck they need to get out of here but
the whole place is locked because of the police. So Blair asks for help from
the most unlikely person, my fave character Georgina. Georgina talks to Chuck's
limo driver while Chuck and Blair hide the boot of the limo.
Next we
see Serena on the plane getting ready to take off to Los Angeles but and then
she finds Dan's Serena chapter the one that says all the good things about her.
This leads her to get off the plane and head to Dan's new apartment where they
have a little confrontation where Serena asks him "which is the real
you?" holding both Serena chapters in each hand.
Next we
see Nate with Sage of course finding out about Bart's death. Along with Lily
getting a phone call, we then see Ivy outside the building where Bart fell to
his death on the pphone talking to William telling him that it is safe to come
back to New York because Bart Bass is dead. Meanwhile the police are questioning
Nate, Dorota, Elenor and Cyrus reguarding to Chuck and Blair's whereabouts
because Chuck is a person of interest in his father's death.
The next
day we find out that Chuck and Blair have been hiding out in a hotel, there is
a knock on their door, who could it be? only Uncle Jack! and believe it or not
he is here to help. He reveals that he tracked them down using a tracking device
he planted on Chuck's limo. Chuck tells him the truth about what happened on
the roof and after learning that Blair is the only witness he comes up with the
idea that Chuck and Blair should marry, Say what? This is only because of
Spousal Privilege I believe it's called. That way Chuck and especially Blair
will not have to testify against each other. Naturally Blair agrees to go ahead
with the plan but Chuck doesn't. He doesn't want to get married this way. Soon
after this Jack goes to Georgina and enlists her help for a little scheme which
of course she accepts. This could not have been the first time that they have
met. I mean really!
Next
scene Lily returns from her trip away and as soon as she enters the building
William is there waiting for her. He says with Eric away he just wants to be
there to support her in her time of need. (what are ex husbands for) soon after
he says that Ivy comes walking through the lobby doors wanting to take down
Lily as usual. When she starts telling the truth about how William and herself
have been working together trying to take her down, that they are in love with
each other. William acts like that this never happened in fact he says that
they only met the one time at Lola's party. At this point Lily has heard enough
and went to go get security. While she is gone
William tells her that he only used her to get back with Lily. He tells
her that she is nothing, she is a con artist. This was the last we see of Ivy
Dickens. Oh and while she is being escorted out through the doors Georgina and
Jack come in wanting to talk to
Lily.
Back to
Serena and Dan this where Dan starts to explain himself about everything that
has happened. Cue flashback to way way before Serena left for boarding school,
Dan was mistakenly (is that even a word) invited to a birthday party this was
his first taste of the Upper East Side outside of Constance. He loved this
world and still feeling like an outsider Serena is the only person to pay attention
to him, she was actually being pretty nice and flirty. This was the first time
that the two had met. Meanwhile back in the present Serena was touched that Dan
remembered that because she didn't. He also starts to explain when Serena first
started to be talked out. Dan overheard two mean girls talking about Serena
wearing a dress and that it got wet and they wanted to take pictures of it. But
out of the conversation the words Dan remembered were "You're no one until
you're talked about". Dan tells all of this to Jenny who Serena thinks
posted it as Gossip Girl This when the awesome Georgina walks in and explains
everything to them and collects them as part of a scheme.
Nate just
got off the phone and reveals to Sage since Bart has died hi name is the only
one on the Spectator's loan application which means he just has to pay off what
he owes then he's off the hook. Sage is still doing research and believes that
Gossip Girl is someone Nate's age or someone younger. But then they wondered
how Gossip Girl knew about everything after they had graduated high school.
Nate said that Gossip Girrl could have had sources everywhere so she could have
been anywhere and still know what was going on in New York. Sage then thinks
that Gossip Girl could be Eric or Jenny because they are not in New York. She
then explains that Jenny was an inspiration.
GG blast:
#4062
Spotted:
Chuck Bass back in Manhattan. We hear he's on his way to turn himself in. Who's
up for a little stake out at the big house?
This is
when Jack comes in and recruits them into his scheme.
Everyone
meets up at the Metropolitan Museum and while they are walking up the stairs
these two annoying girls ( I think that they were in previous seasons) spots
them and sends a blast to Gossip Girl telling them where they are. Everyone
meets inside for the wedding but before the wedding Blair and Serena have a
brief talk outside about everything. The conversation then leans towards Dan
and Serena being together. Blair tells Serena that Humphrey (aka Dan) has no power,
that he will never be one of them. Dan of course overhears them which then
convinces him to give his final chapter to Nate. Georgina being Georgina wanted
to read it first but she didn't get a chance to. Nate gave it a quick glance
and sends Sage with the article to the Spectator to type and publish it. The
chapter is about Gossip Girl and Gossip Girl's real identity. Back to those annoying
girl one of them said that Gossip Girl was taking too long so she decides to
call the police instead. (bitch) Nate overhears them calling the police and so
now Chuck and Blair have to get hitched fast before the police get there.
After Cyrus' long speech the finally say I do and get married and while kissing
the police come and arrest them both. Right then and there the Spectator blast
goes live and Dan's final chapter and Gossip Girl's real identity is revealed.
Now this
was my favourite part of this episode, when past characters came back and we
saw their reactions to who was Gossip Girl. In order of appearance: Lola, Vanessa,
Juliet and then Agnes. But the real awesomeness was when Kristen Bell came onto
our screens. The voice of Gossip Girl finally made an appearance. "Hey Upper
East Siders Gossip Girl here, and I have the biggest news ever!" when she says
this she turns to another surprise guest. Rachel Bilson. Veronica Mars and Summer
Roberts on screen at the same time almost gave me a heart attack, yep it was
that awesome. They are on screen because they are running through lines for the
movie adaptation of Dan's back. Rachel playing Blair and Kristen playing Serena.
Kristen then gets the Spectator blast about who Gossip Girl is. Rachel said
"Wait Gossip Girl is real?" Just then Kristen smiles and winks at the
screen.
After the
whole reveal we see Dan explaining his actions to everyone and why he did what
he did. Rufus then walks in wanting an explanation about everything. The one
thing he wanted to know was why did he it to Jenny? Dan then reveals another
twist that Jenny knew Dan was Gossip Girl all along. And she wanted Dan to post
about her just so she could leave New York. This is when everyone reveals who
their speculation to who Gossip Girl was. Jack thought it was Jenny, Blair
always thought it was Dorota (who didn't), Serena thought that it was Eric and
then Rufus, Rufus always thought that it was Nate, yet no one thought that it
was the most evil and scheming person among them Georgina. Blair was so angry Dan
then said "All of this time, I've had more power than you!" Blair's
face at that moment was priceless. Serena said that all Dan has done while he
was Gossip Girl was write a love letter to them all.
Fast
forward five years we see Nate walking out of a Spectator private plane being
hounded by a journalist asking him if he is running for mayor of New York? (Really
Mayor really?) Next scene we are at Chuck and Blair's house and it looks like
something is happening, we then see the returns of Both Eric and Jenny even
though their return was short it was very sweet. We then see little Henry who
turns out to be Chuck and Blair's son. It turns out that Lily and William are
back together. Rufus is with some other woman, Lisa Loeb. But the biggest surprise
and awesome at that was that Jack and Georgina are now together, just imagine
the scheming that they can get up to. Ivy has sold her story about her life in
the Upper East Side posing as Lola and coincidentally Lola is going to be
starring in the movie. It turns out that the big event that they are at Chuck
and Blair's for is Dan and Serena's wedding. Yep S and lonely boy are getting
married. This was the last scene that the Upper East Siders had together.
The last
ever scene of Gossip Girl we see another person that looks a little bit like
Dan another outsider who apparently has picked up the Gossip Girl mantle, the
next lonely boy During this scene Kristen Bell has one last voice over as
Gossip Girl saying:
"You
may be rid of Dan Humphrey but you'll never be rid of me. There will always be
someone on the outside, wanting to get in. Who am I now? That's one secret I'll
never tell. XOXO, Gossip Girl."
That was
an awesome ending it reminded me of the Desperate Housewives series finale (I
won't say anything in case some of you haven't seen it yet) I will say that it
was something kinda similar.
Since I
can no longer say "can't wait til next week" I will just say XOXO
What did
you guys think of the ending?
Was it
everything you hoped it would be?
What did
you think of the weddings?
Who's
cameo/return were you surprised about?
Grade- A+
