what my evil brother has done with my good one....You're helping!"
I didn't do my thoughts for the first episode because it basically was a rehash of the backdoor pilot from 'The Vampire Diaries' but from Elijah's point of view. The only new thing was Sophie linking herself to Haley and Elijah getting daggered by Klaus again. See nothing new. Lol
The episode begins with Rebekah finally arriving in New Orleans looking for Elijah because he hasn't been answering his phone, so she is officially worried. The show really needed her. After arriving at the house she meets Haley who she assumes is the help, but after exchanging pleasantries they get sorta friendly. This is when big brother steps in and being his over-protecting self, tells her he doesn't know where Elijah went. Before Rebekah leaves she wants to find out when her evil brother has done with her good one.
Speaking of Klaus being over-protecting we get a flashback to The Original family in New Orleans and at 'The Governor’s' party. And Rebekah is in love with his son but Klaus being Klaus decides to kill him.
Earlier in the episode Klaus is with Marcel during his tourist eating party when he finds out that 6 of his vampires have been killed. When later learn that Rebekah is the one that killed the 6 vampires on her way to town. Breaking one of Marcel’s rules.
Still on the hunt for Elijah, Rebekah meets Sophie Deveraux. Hoping that she can use some kind of locater spell to try and find him. But of course she can't use any magic because of Marcel and his rules. Seriously who does Marcel think he is?
Cue flashback number two and Rebekah tells the story of how Klaus met Marcel. During the funeral for the governor’s son (who Klaus killed) they see a child being whipped basically punished. Klaus feeling some kind of sympathy for the boy saves him. We learn that the boy is the bastard child of the Governor. So after Klaus saves the boy Klaus names him Marcellus. (Awesome name) Back in the present Marcel and Klaus are having drinks and Klaus notices that Marcel has a little crush on Cami. (Who Doesn’t?)
Flashback to Rebekah and Marcel's chemistry, you can feel it though the TV. Klaus then walks in on them and obviously doesn't like it. So he forbids Marcel from seeing her.
Haley decides to heed Rebekah's words and try and do something before Klaus kills you. So what can she do in her situation, try and kill the baby? So she goes to a store and gets some wolfs bane but of course no one in New Orleans can be trusted. The witch calls one of Marcel's minions and tells them about a Werewolf in town.
While out of the house. Haley gets attacked by some of Marcel's vamp minion, but Rebekah comes to the rescue protects her from them while also killing more of Marcel's minions.
Klaus is really angry that Rebekah has killed more vampires; she claims that he has done nothing to try and take down Marcel. This is when he reveals his plan. He recruited the new vampire before Marcel can get to him. He compelled Cami to give Marcel a chance. All this to try and find out what Marcel's secret weapon is. And in the process Rebekah stopped Klaus from hurting Haley and his unborn child after she tells him that she almost aborted their unborn child. Klaus then tells Rebekah that he gave Elijah to Marcel as a peace offering. So in a way Klaus is kinda honouring Elijah's wish.
Haley and Rebekah have another bonding moment, Rebekah tells Haley that she is afraid to do anything because Klaus might Dagger her again. Haley then reveals that she took Klaus' daggers so now Bek can do what she wants.
We learn from Bek that Klaus has killed everyone of Rebekah’s boyfriend's, because no one was good enough for his little sister. So she stopped falling in love. (So sad)
Cue final flashback. Bek and Marcel's chemistry was so intense that they couldn't withstand it anymore, so they gave in, but who should walk in but Klaus. So instead of punishing Marcel he punishes Rebekah by daggering her because she needs a lesson in what she cannot have. When Klaus finally un-daggers her 52 years later, he tells her that Marcel had a choice: To either un-dagger her or become a vampire. Guess what Marcel chose? So when Bek learns of this she is disheartened, she believed that Marcel would un-dagger but she was dead wrong. (Literally)
Rebekah interrupts Marcel's date with Cami and forces him to tell her where Elijah is, or she'll hurt Cami. So Marcel agrees to take her to Elijah.
Rebekah then meets Davina and they take an instant dislike to each other. So Davina uses her powers and chucks her out the window. And while all of this is going on Klaus and Haley are bonding about being un-wanted.
When Bek finally returns she tells Klaus about Davina claiming that she has never felt powers like hers before. She gets angry because Davina made her forget her location, so now they can't find Elijah. So now Klaus and Rebekah are going to try and find a way to get Elijah back. No matter what it takes.
In the last scene Marcel asks Davina to try and find a way to kill an original, meaning he wants to kill Rebekah and Elijah. Surely he can't kill Klaus because then he would die and everyone in Mystic Falls would die.
This episode was really good. I'm already hooked on this show. I really like Klaus and Rebekah on the same side for once. As usual can't wait till next week.
Grade - A
