Awkward 3X08 thoughts

Jake: YES you used your phone man, I win! HAHAHA!
Matty: You just shaved your legs and have pink finger nails. Whose the real                                                                 winner here?

My first post back. Here we go!

So this episode was the start of Jenna and Colin's spark. We knew Nolan Funk's character Colin was going to be a potential love interest for Jenna but we just didn't know if Jenna would feel the same way. Turns out Jenna is feeling more for Colin the he is for her right now.

But before I talk about that situation let’s talk about the episode first. Jenna and Tamara are watching their guys: Matty and Jake play Football/Soccer. We then see Matt groupies who just happen to be the same girls that was dancing with at the homecoming dance. The girls were just being normal groupies you know: cheering and being crazy. But then Matty takes off his shirt and the girls go even more crazy. Matty apologizes for the girls' behaviour but Jenna doesn't mind because she isn't jealous of them. Tamara on the other goes cray cray when she sees one Jake groupie among the dozen of Matty groupies. She had some harsh words for that groupie which I will not mention at least not yet.

During her writing class along with Colin and the awesome bitch Sadie. Her
Sociopath teacher (who just happens to be named Mr Hart) offers the class an assignment which will earn them at least 50% of their grade. Jenna decides to not to take up that offer and play it safe which of course Sadie points out. This leads to some events which in the end her teacher manages to manipulate Jenna into reading something personal at a bar called "Bean There Done That" where it just so happens to be open mike night, and if she doesn’t 50% of her overall grade would be a 0.

Jenna doesn't want any of her friends there: Matty, Jake not even Tamara. (speaking of friends, where was Ming this episode? Even the Asian Mafia was
missing.) Matty willing to prove to Jenna that he is not clingy decides to
spontaneously claim that he and Jake were having a bro night which of course surprised Jake and by association Tamara because ever since becoming "Jakara" they do everything together.

Back in Jenna's bedroom she is deciding what to talk about at the bar. The
Guidance Counsellor turned Vice Principal turned Guidance Counsellor again gave her the advice to read something from her blog. August 26 2011. Tamara meanwhile goes into the kitchen to get something to drink and bumps into Jenna's mum and mentions the open mike night.

So when Jenna goes to the bar, she is greeted by the Guidance Counsellor Ms Marks and also her parents. To make matters worse she sees Mr Hart when she was about to leave, she also sees Colin who I'm guessing was there for support and Sadie who was there to watch her make a fool of herself as usual. Sensing that J was nervous the Guidance Counsellor decides to warm the crowd up for her and do a very weird intimate dance.

Next its Jenna's turn and her parents' are happy that they are there to witness this but as soon as Jenna tells them what her story is about "How I lost my virginity" Jenna's dad immediately leaves saying "I shouldn't be here" which is right because no father should have to hear how his daughter lost her V card. At first Jenna felt uncomfortable but then she got into it even adding a few quips of her own about the host. She even spoke about Matty's signature smelling of the arm pits.

Meanwhile at Jake's house the bro night is in full swing but all the boys can talk about is their girlfriends. So Matty and Jake make a competition. They both turn their phones off and no one can mention their girlfriend's name. Simple right? Well it is proving harder for Matty and Jake because every conversation that they have always consists of them about to mention Jenna or Tamara's names. So to keep themselves distracted they have a series of competitions. You know because that's what us boys do. Whether it's: Eating a burnt steak off of the floor, eating a bottle of cinnamon, downing a bottle of hot sauce, eating a raw onion or painting your nails pink and shaving your legs, Y'know usual guy stuff. Turns out Matty loses the competition because he takes a picture of Jake shaving his legs using his phone. After taking the picture he sees that he has a missed call from Jenna saying that she wants him there.

After her success she gets a compliment or as close to one from Mr Hart. Sadie on the other hand was far from impressed as usual. But Colin on the other hand was the complete opposite. So while her mother and Ms Marks were talking (are they back to being bff's now) Colin invited Jenna out for a bite to eat. While they were eating Matty finally called Jenna back but she ignored it but when Alex (Colin's girlfriend) calls he accepts and tells Jenna that she's just trying to make him jealous because he was missing out. Turns out Colin ditched his girlfriend and her friends to go and see Jenna at the open mike night. But while he was on the phone to Alex he was holding onto Jenna's arm. At this point you can see the chemistry, cupid's arrow has struck Jenna and she felt it. But once Colin got off the phone explains that he didn't really feel anything, didn't really feel that he was missing out, he wasn't at all jealous. Jenna says that this could mean that he trusts her but then Colin says "Or he's over it" and by it he means the relationship. At this point Jenna then ignores another phone call from Matty.

Jenna returns home to her mother who was waiting up to tell her how proud of her she was. But then she started to quiz Jenna about Colin and claming that she already has a boyfriend aka Matty. The episode ends with Jenna and her monologue and Matty knocking her window but her pretending to be asleep.

So are you Team Matty or Team Colin?
